Finally, a Better Way to Get Water From Your Jerry Can
Tired of spilling water every time you try to fill a bottle or wash up? Awkward angles, heavy containers, broken bungs, and messy hoses make something simple unnecessarily frustrating.
Meet WildTap
The first rechargeable electric water dispenser designed specifically for jerry cans in Australia. Clean, controlled water flow without the hassle.
How it works: Our custom 3D-printed adapter mounts securely to your jerry can, creating an electric tap that dispenses water at the touch of a button. No more lifting, tilting, or wrestling with awkward containers.
What makes it different:
- No spills or mess – Precise and clean control
- No lifting – Pump brings water to you
- Rechargeable – Approx 60L pumped on one charge, 3 hours to recharge from flat.
- Australian made (adapter) – Built for local conditions
- Affordable - A reasonable water solution
Perfect for:
Camping, 4WD trips, trade work sites, emergency preparedness, or anywhere you need reliable water access from a jerry can.
Compatibility
Currently designed for the Pro Quip 22L Wide Mouth Heavy Duty Water Jerry Can. As of March 2025, we are official partners of Pro Quip - we believe their jerry cans are the best in the Australian market.
Made to order in Australia – most orders ship within 3-5 business days.
Cautions & Use
⚠️DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN ADAPTER ONTO JERRY CAN - IT HAS A DESIGNED STOPPING POINT AT 6 O'CLOCK
⚠️DO NOT SUBMERGE TAP BODY IN WATER - ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS
⚠️DO NOT LEAVE TAP ON MOVING VEHICLE OR EXPOSED TO HEAVY RAINFALL
Installation
Installation
- Press the adapter in to the bottom of the tap, aligning the internal grooves on the adapter with the tap (there is a forward-facing arrow marker to help).
- Fit the supplied hose onto the tap inlet (underneath).
- Drop the hose in to the jerry, and thread the unit onto your jerry can mouth until securely attached. To remove the tap from adapter, secure it to the jerry can and pull the tap upwards.
Note: You may receive your WildTap combo with the adapter pre-installed, if that's the case, simply thread the entire unit on to your jerry can.
IMPORTANT: Do not overtighten
Do not overtighten the adapter onto the jerry can. The hose passes through the adapter, so a watertight seal is not required. Overtightening can damage the threads and permanently compromise the adapter’s function.
The Adapter (WildGear)
The Adapter (WildGear)
3D printed in-house, in Sydney.
Depending on when you ordered, your variant may be printed in either glass-reinforced ABS, or carbon-fibre reinforced PETG.
Both provide excellent finish, strength and longevity. They are not cheap plastic filaments. They are specially formulated for outdoor, functional use.
June 2025 update: We are prototyping prints of a different material for additional UV resistance, thread elasticity and layer adhesion (PETG-CF).
The adapter will come in either orange, blue or black depending on our filament inventory at time of purchase.
The Tap
The Tap
- In-built 1200mAh lithium battery. Once fully charged via the micro-USB port, the tap can fill 19L (5 gallons) 5 to 6 times over before requiring a recharge. That's around 100L from one charge, more than enough for weekend camping trips. The tap takes 3 hours to recharge to full capacity from empty.
- It has two modes - continuous or 600mL. Simply press the continuous button to pump water, and press again to stop. For 600mL, press the 600mL button once to release exactly that amount.
- BPA free, food grade silicone hose, 304 stainless steel, high density ABS plastic shell.

Great solution and prompt delivery
Adapter looks ok. Got it as a combo to keep things simple despite already having similar taps already. Unfortunately discovered only too late that they are using the extremely inferior and outdated micro-usb charging port. Wish I hadn't wasted my money. My other taps all have USB C ports.and had cost far less. Keep this in mind if considering the combo.
After leaving the review, the team reached out. They offered a refund which I didn't take because the adapter seems good.
Everything is good and I'd love to see a usb version soon.
Hey Nic - sorry to hear you were disappointed by the micro USB port, I understand the frustration. We do clearly state in the tap description that it uses micro USB and not USB-C. As we make the adapter and not the tap itself, I have been speaking with the tap manufacturer to see whether transitioning to USB-C is feasible for future versions.
In saying that, I've reached out via email - happy to arrange a refund if you'd like to return the combo mate.
Cheers
Alex
This tap is absolutely amazing, thought it was a good idea when I bought but didn't realize how handy it is. It's makes it so easy to fill up water bottles and even while driving and needing to quickly get some water for the dogs when you do a quick stop. Highly rated and recommend.
I have purchased this tap to use on my boat so I can wash my hands etc, simple operation with no wires etc. The fitting works well with the water tank that I purchased from the local hardware shop a few years ago
Got product and needed to reach out for instructions. Fantastic quick response from team. Fabulous product feeling very flash at camping now
